"Cleanse". Completed for Space Research. Spring 2023. Video, cyanotype, soap, found objects.
This assignment required us to utilize mold making in some capacity. I decided to focus on the theme of cleansing. In my piece, I utilize many different natural cycles that cleanse our environment: sun, wind, water, plants. For the mold-making component, I created molds of various roots and then cast the roots in soap. The soap roots were arranged with natural roots in my final installation. A documentation video of the cyanotypes was played over top of the installation.
