"Near or Far" is a photo book created in the Spring of 2024 as a tribute to my maternal great grandmother. I captured photos as my family journeyed to and gathered in Franklin, Tennessee to celebrate my great grandmother's life and attend her memorial service. "Near or Far" celebrates the passage of time, stories, and wisdom through generations and highlights the joy of togetherness. "Near or Far" was hand printed and bound with fabric cyanotype covers. This project emphasizes materiality and emphasizes how feelings and memories become infused into handmade items.
